requirements For MERIT increases and graduation
0 - 1,000 hours on the job
Stage 1 Apprentice
If you comply with our apprenticeship requirements, at 1,000 hours on the job, you are eligible for a 10% merit increase. Merit increases are based on Group I, General Laborers scale. It is your responsibility to notify the school about your upcoming merit increase. Merit increases take up to about a week to process on average.
Stage 1 to Stage 2 Merit Increase Checklist
• Have reached 1,000 hours on the job
• Have an evaluation within a month before requesting a wage increase
• Complies with Apprenticeship Requirements
Benefits: Your benefits package starts collecting as soon as you start working.
Health Insurance: Once you reach 360 hours on the job, your insurance kicks in after an additional enrollment month. Once you reach 1,200 hours on the job, your insurance is fully working (includes dental, vision, life, etc.)
1,001 - 2,500 Hours on the job
Stage 2 Apprentice
If you comply with our apprenticeship requirements, at 2,500 hours on the job, you are eligible for a 10% merit increase. It is your responsibility to notify the school about your upcoming merit increase. Merit increases take up to about a week to process on average.
Stage 2 to Stage 3 Merit Increase Checklist
• Have reached 2,500 hours on the job
• Have an evaluation from within a month before requesting a wage increase
• Complies with Apprenticeship Requirements
Benefits: your benefits keep collecting, and you have access to your health insurance.
Health Insurance: Once you reach 1,200 hours on the job, your insurance is fully working (includes dental, vision, life, etc.).
2,501 - 4,000 Hours on the job
Stage 3 Apprentice
If you comply with our apprenticeship requirements, at 4,000 hours on the job, you are eligible for a 5% merit increase. It is your responsibility to notify the school about your upcoming merit increase. Merit increases take up to about a week to process on average.
Stage 3 to Stage 4 Merit Increase Checklist
• Have reached 4,000 hours on the job
• Have an evaluation from within a month before requesting a wage increase
• Complies with Apprenticeship Requirements
Benefits: your benefits keep collecting and you have full access to your health insurance
4,001 - 5,100 Hours on the job
Stage 4 Apprentice
If you’re in compliance with our apprenticeship requirements, at 5,100 hours you are eligible to graduate. It is your responsibility to notify the school when you are getting close to 5,100 hours. Graduation takes up to about a week to process.
Graduation Checklist
• Have done 10 hrs. of community service for each year since starting the program.
• Have completed 150 hours of training each year.
• Have reached 5,100 work hours.
• Have an evaluation within a month of reaching 5,100 hours.
